The MMDCo. Difference
Beyond the friendly staff, sprung floors, teachers with experience, and a positive atmosphere that every studio should have, what sets us apart from the crowd. Modesty – We believe it is very
important to protect and
develop the character of our dancers with the application of modesty. We do this through the costumes we choose,
the choreography of the dances, and the music selection.
Young and old alike, we choose exciting
costumes that are not revealing (i.e. no mid-drifts).
The choreography is creative without any sexually explicit
moves
or innuendo. Our music, in class or
programs, is selected with an emphasis on the positive message of the
lyrics.
We do not use songs with any kind of sexual lyrics. Performance Based – Our main
emphasis at Modern Messages is on performances, not competition. Our productions include a Christmas show in
December, a spring ballet in April and our recital in May.
Beyond our productions, our dance teams perform at
numerous community events around the area. Lower Cost - Because we are performance based and not competition based we save students thousands each year. By doing performances instead of competition, we have audiences and advertisers that defer a lot of the cost. The students will get the same number of opportunities to perform, but for far less then half the cost. With additional classes, costumes, travel, lodging, and competition fees, parents are paying thousands to be on the competition teams. We Have A Standard And Monitored Curriculum – Through the ten years that Hollie has been teaching she has seen the steps that each age and level is capable of progressing at. Through this she has designed a curriculum that each teacher can follow to insure that the students technique is built on a proper foundation, and each teacher continues to build on that foundation with the same goals in mind. Touring And University Experience –
Hollie Bottiglia, the owner, not only toured with a company, but also
worked toward a degree from Oakland University. The
touring helped her to understand the professionalism, and the work
ethic to be at the professional level. Her
college courses were not only dance classes, but also informative
classes such as kinesiology. Kinesiology
(The study of motion as it applied to dance technique)
itself was very important for understanding technique,
alignment, and movement of the muscles and bones to properly train the
dancers and avoid injury, this is rarely taught in dance class alone.
